My Story

Melindia Castro Mann, DNP, CNM, WHNP-BC, is a certified nurse-midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio, a Master of Science in Nurse Midwifery and Women’s Health from Georgetown University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus on Public Health from the University of Texas Health San Antonio as well as a post-graduate certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice from Johns Hopkins University. She spent nearly 8 years at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where she played a key role in establishing the recurrent UTI clinic. Before that, she provided rural healthcare to women in western Kentucky and middle Tennessee. Additionally, she specializes in weight management and caring for perimenopausal and menopausal women.

In her strive to further advance others in the field of Women's Health, she is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University's Berkley School of Nursing Women's Health and Nurse Midwifery program. She also provides community outreach and education about Sexually Transmitted Infections and "Sexuality While We Age". She supports reproductive and sexual health and justice. She is a Kink-Aware Provider and provides gynecologic care to those receiving gender-affirming care.

In her spare time, she can be found playing with her grandchildren, crocheting, reading, traveling, and enjoying her playful pomsky, Koba. She has a wonderful support system with her husband and two children.
